Summary

Common Worship is the name of the suite of new liturgical books for the Church of England - producd in the first decade of this century. David Stancliffe was instumental in the process and here he outlines how they were produced and provide an insight into their theological underpinning, the role of the study of human ritual in their evolution, and how they belong within the development of an ecclesiology of discipleship. The significanse of Common Worship for the ecumenical movement is also examined in detail.
