ABOUT

The renewed interest in the thought and legacy of St. Maximus the Confessor has created the need for a dedicated forum for Maximian scholarship. One of the most original and influential Christian thinkers of Late Antiquity, Maximus made a profound and enduring contribution to both Eastern and Western intellectual traditions.

Published as a subseries of Instrumenta Patristica et Mediaevalia, Subsidia Maximiana promotes research on the life, works, thought, and reception of Maximus the Confessor. The series welcomes studies from a wide range of perspectives, including theology, philosophy, history, philology, and related disciplines.

Founded in 2020 by Alexis Léonas and Vladimir Cvetković, with the first volume appearing in 2023, the series publishes both scholarly monographs and edited collections, including the proceedings of conferences and international congresses.
