The catalogue of Western illuminated manuscripts and incunabula in the collections of the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Cambridge Colleges is based on the studies undertaken by the Cambridge Illuminations Research Project under the direction of Professor Nigel Morgan and Dr. Stella Panayotova. Some 3000 manuscripts are being catalogued according to their place of origin and school of illumination, dating from the sixth to the sixteenth century and covering a wide range of texts both in Latin and in vernacular languages. The catalogue is in five multi-volume parts.
