ABOUT

"Comparative Studies in European Literature and Drama” is a new peer-reviewed series of books that explores a broad range of literary and theatrical subjects. Its main objective is to show the various interferences and connections between different European cultures and traditions. The series welcomes monographs and edited collective volumes that cover the period between the 17th and the 21st centuries. Its aim is to shed new light on and present an innovative approach to  European literary and theatrical works, themes, aesthetics, or theories. The comparative character of the series consists not only in the comparison and juxtaposition of different motifs, techniques, or literary and dramatic traditions, but also in the importance given to contemporary readings of works of the past. One of the ambitions of the series is to recall the literary and cultural legacy of the Central European countries still considered to be peripheral and largely unknown, and to reintegrate it into the European and Western culture.
