This peer-reviewed series explores all the different theoretical, practical and historical dimensions of the arts produced in the United Provinces between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 18th century. It takes a historical look at the significant artists, works and issues in the 17th-century Dutch art history, and extends to the field of the history of the Dutch Golden Age the critical research and the new questions that have emerged in other disciplines of the humanities and social sciences, by promoting the dialogue between the methods. Conceived as a forum for ongoing research, widely open to young scholars, this series hosts both conference proceedings and collective works, organized around a central theme, as well as monographs, which shed new light on the histories and cultural productions of 17th century Dutch art and adopt original approaches towards them. Contributions are welcome in all European languages.
