BIO

The late A. I. Doyle was Keeper of Rare Books in the University Library and Reader in Bibliography at the University of Durham. He was universally acknowledged as the UK's most knowledgeable, and most generous palaeographer.

Ralph Hanna is Professor of Palaeography emeritus of Keble College, University of Oxford.
