This is the first publication within the Series Coptica of the Corpus Fontium Manichaeorum, containing the editions of the Manichaean codices found 65
years ago in the sands of Egypt. The edition of the Coptic text is based
on a new interpretation of the text from the metrical point of view.
Hitherto unpublished old (prewar) photographs played a first-rank role in
reconstructing the text and are reproduced for the first time in this volume. An introduction, apparatus criticus, notes and a new translation, in German,
complete this edition of the Psalm-Book in which basic concepts of the Religion of Light are reflected within a document possessing a concrete
function within the Manichaean church.
