Review(s)

“Falque's edition is a worthy companion to the other works of twelfth- and thirteenth-century Latin historical writing from the Iberian peninsula recently available in editions published in the Corpus Christianorum, including her own editions of the 'Historia Compostellana' and the 'Historia Roderici'.”

(Lucy K. Pick, in: The Journal of Medieval Latin, 14, 2004, p. 237)

“Falque’s edition is a worthy companion to the other works of twelfth- and thirteenth-century Latin historical writing from the Iberian peninsula recently available in editions published in the Corpus Christianorum.”

(L. K. Pick, in: The Journal of Medieval Latin, 14, 2004, p. 239) “Emma Falque has provided a model edition of a long and difficult text … This is a landmark in the history of scholarship on the historiography of medieval Spain.”

(Francisco J. Fernández, in: The Journal of Ecclesiastical History, 56, 2005, p. 142)

“Lucas of Túy’s Chronicon mundi has long been in need of a new edition to replace the early-seventeenth-century version so long in use (…). Emma Falque offers not only a new text but also an extensive introduction appropriate to a work holding such a critical place in Iberian historiography. (…) The new version of his Chronicon is a most welcome addition to the Brepols series of editions.”

(James F. Powers, in: Speculum, 80, 2005, p. 629)

(A.M.S.A. Rodriquez, in: Revue d'Histoire Ecclésiastique, 3, 405, 2005, p. 1169-1170)

"Falque is to be thanked and congratulated for bringing both Lucas and his Cronicon Mundi the attention they both deserve." ( S. Barton in English Historical Review, cxxii. 495 (Feb. 2007), p. 155-157)
