This series takes a multi-faceted approach to the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages. It seeks to embrace methodologies that go beyond the traditional dimensions of style and iconongraphy to encompass aspects of the cultural context of manuscript production, agency, text-image relations, patronage and politics among others. The series encourages a variety of approaches and topics.
