This peer-reviewed series is part of the permanent project SCRIPTVRA, promoted by the Fondazione San Bonaventura in Naples. It offers an interdisciplinary forum for the study of writing practices across time, from the earliest graphic manifestations to the modern age. Particular attention is given to Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages, with a focus on the material, spatial, and social dimensions of written artefacts.
The series stands out for its attention to writing as a tangible practice embedded in specific contexts. It welcomes monographs and collective volumes on topics such as the interaction between writing and its physical support, the visual and technical features of written objects, the palaeography of inscriptions, including informal or marginal examples, and the cultural frameworks in which written records were produced and circulated. Contributions may concern both Western and Eastern worlds.
