In recent years, archaeology in Central and Eastern Europe has been marked by striking discoveries that can fundamentally alter our understanding of the development of these regions across different historical periods from the Paleolithic into the modern era. These discoveries also influence the general understanding of Europe's roots. However, such research has often proved difficult to access for reasons of both geography and language, with the result that new results have not received the dissemination that they deserve, while anglophone scholars in particular have struggled to access new data. This peer-reviewed series offers a platform through which scholars working in the archaeology of Central and Eastern Europe can present cutting-edge research to an international audience. Open to both monographs and thematic edited collections, the series invites proposals from a range of archaeology-related fields between the Paleolithic and the Early Modern, including landscape studies, material culture, archaeological theory and practice, archaeology of war, numismatics, and multidisciplinary studies with a strong archaeological component.
