How to order direct from Brepols

Please send us your orders or information requests by e-mail, fax or letter, or simply give us a call.

We will execute your order without any special administrative procedure.

When ordering make sure to give us:

    - the title, author and the ISBN or reference number of the books to order
    - your name
    - invoice & delivery address
    - VAT number (if appropriate)
    - client number (if appropriate)

IMPORTANT:  Please, don't forget to mention your postal mail address in the email-order (we cannot send orders to PO-Boxes).

Brepols Delivery & Payment Information
How to pay Brepols?

We accept payment in any of three methods:

    - major credit cards (up to a value of 500 EURO)

VISA, Mastercard, Eurocard, Diners Club and American  Express.  Please send us your card number and expiry date together with your order.  (to assure your security: please use fax, separate emails or surface mail)

    - international money transfers

we advise you to use one of our IBAN-bank account numbers (Europe) or SWIFT-codes.

    - cheques

however, for security reasons and to minimise costs, credit cards and money transfers are advised

Enclosed with your parcel you will receive the invoice, including postage and relevant sales-taxes.  (see below under "General Information")

Immediate payment is required from individuals.  Other customers pay 30 days net.

 

When will the order be delivered?

- books available at our main warehouse and sent by "non-priority mail" will usually be delivered:

 for customers within the European Union: within 2 weeks
 to North America or Australasia: within 3 to 4 weeks
 in Belgium: within 1 week from receipt of the order

- on request products can be sent by courier 

- customers may also order products which are not yet available. The order will be held as pending and fulfilled when the product becomes available. 

- In exceptional circumstances the delivery time may extend beyond the timetable above because products have to be sought from alternative warehouses.

 

Postage Costs

-  Brepols undertakes to minimise costs of shipment

-  Brepols only charges you the actual cost of the postage

-  Therefore we can guarantee that no customer will pay more than the official prices stipulated by the Belgian Postal Service.

-    Examples (February 2004) for a 1 kg package:

for delivery within the European Union and Switzerland 5,21 Euro
to the rest of the world (incl. USA, CND, AUS, JPN) 8,05 Euro
 
Taxes and Duties

- for deliveries to all customers within the European Union (EU)

VAT (TVA - Mwst) will be charged according to EU cross-border regulations
(that is, individuals currently pay 6% on books and 21% on electronic media)

- for deliveries to customers outside the European Union:

VAT is not chargeable but national (import) duties or GSTs will be applied where necessary;
In this case they will be charged through a local customs agent (usually the Post Office or another courier).

1. les pays francophones - S
Les livres destinés à priori à la vente en librairie en France et dans les pays francophones (F, B, CH, CND) sont distribués dans ces pays par Sofedis/Sodis.  Ces livres portent le code distribution "S" sur la "product information page" du "online catalogue".

2. the United Kingdom - M
Bookshops in the UK can purchase Harvey Miller Books and Brepols Books in English from Marston Book Services.  These books carry the distribution code "M" on the product information page of the online catalogue.

3. North America (USA & Canada) - DBBC
Bookshops in the UK can purchase Harvey Miller Books and Brepols Books in English from the David Brown Book Company.  These books carry the distribution code "DBBC" on the product information page of the online catalogue.

4. België (Nederlandstalig) - L
Boekhandels in Vlaanderen kunnen de werken uit het Nederlands Algemeen Fonds, specifiek bestemd voor verkoop door de Vlaamse boekhandel, aanschaffen bij Libridis.  Deze werken dragen de distributiecode "L" op de "product information page" van de "online catalogus".
