The
CASCAM series is primarily concerned with the history of the Collegium of
the Papal Chapel, and secondarily with the history of other musical
institutions with which the Roman Collegium was in contact, during the
period in question.
The research focus is, on one hand, on the
Collegium as an institution and each of its members, its functions on holy
days and its daily ceremonial functions, or the role of the Chapel
Collegium in relation to other musical offices of the Roman Church
(namely, the Capellae Apostolicae).
On the other hand it addresses the ceremony of the papal curia, the
physical building and upkeep of the Sistine Chapel from its establishment
by Sixtus IV, and the history of the buildings associated with the papal
palaces, chapels and other locations where the papal rites took place. |
