The International Medieval Institute, based at the University of Leeds, aims to act as an international resource for promoting a research and teaching infrastructure for medievalists worldwide in their teaching and research activities. Since its foundation in 1967 the Institute has produced the International Medieval Bibliography in printed form, and from 1994 has organised Europe's largest annual Congres for medievalists. It also undertakes research into innovative methods of teaching medieval studies. With the publication of the International Medieval Bibliography in electronic from the Institute is taking another big step in meeting the needs of modern scholarship in medieval studies.
