Paolo Veronese

David Rosand’s Paolo Veronese is a masterly account of the Venetian painter’s artistic achievement, demonstrating a complete command of the literature and scholarly issues, insightful interpretations of individual paintings and drawings, and a marvelously elegant prose style.
