Summary
Codex Palatinus Latinus 235 in the Bibliotheca Vaticana contains a selection of the Natalicia in honour of St Felix of Nola written by St Paulinus of Nola († 431); and its text is the form used by the Venerable Bede as the basis of the Vita Sancti Felicis which he composed circa 700-705. Palatinus 235, afterwards in the library of Lorsch in the Rhineland, was written in Northumbria, not later than the early 8th century, and is an important witness to an early phase in the development of Insular minuscule script.
