ABOUT

MiscS explores the presentation of individual and group identities across Europe in the medieval period, the means by which these representations were made, and the ways in which they have continued to be made since the Middle Ages. Medieval culture underwent many transformations from the end of the Roman Empire into the modern world, and the series encourages interdisciplinary and transcultural perspectives that engage with this change, encompassing fields such as history, material culture, folklore, art history, anthropology, and literary texts. The series actively promotes dialogue between scholars from different disciplines and backgrounds, in order to offer new ways of reading medieval identities that may equally speak to the contemporary world.
