There are few sites like Capernaum, possibly with the exception of
Qumran, where the interplay between the Scriptures, archaeology and
written sources make any publication an event that immediately
transcends the standard scholarly debate. The series
Cafarnao offers the reader a thorough examination of
archeological evidence from the site as investigated by the
archaeologists of the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in
Jerusalem and their fellows between 1968 and 2003.
